Albert’s songs were born on sunny coastlines while searching for breaking waves. First thing you might think: Jack Johnson! The calm voice of Al-Berto sometimes sounds like the one of the famous surfer, but Al-Berto also sings in his mother tongue, Spanish, mixed with slang from Guatemala, where he lived for a couple of years. With a funky attitude close to Manu Chao, he plays reggae riffs on his acoustic guitar.

Al-Berto returns after every trip to Engelberg to process the gathered thoughts and melodies into songs, built on percussive drums and new wave bass lines, decorated with guitar melodies that dance along the voice.
